Who we are?

We deal with the advancement of technology associated with the understanding of steady and unsteady flow characteristics in hydraulic machinery and conduit systems connected to the machinery, stimulating research and understanding of the technologies associated with hydraulic machinery and promoting interaction between the machine designers, machine users, the academic community, and the community at large.

4th IAHR Asian Working Group Symposium on Hydraulic Machinery and Systems

August 12 - 16, 2023. Kashgar, China

The 4th IAHR Asian Working Group Symposium on Hydraulic Machinery and Systems was held in Kashgar, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, China, during 12 to 16 August 2023.

Day 1 of the Symposium contained seven opening speeches and nine invited lectures. Days 2 and 3 contained a larger number of parallel sessions and further invited lectures. Day 4 was dedicated to a scientific tour to the Altash Key Water Control Project located in southern Xinjiang.

5th Latin American Working Group Meeting on Hydraulic Machinery and Systems

September 12 - 14, 2023. Morelia, Mexico

The 5th Latin American Working Group Meeting on Hydraulic Machinery and Systems was held in Morelia, Mexico during 12 to 14 September 2023.

Two and a half days were dedicated to scientific presentations including plenary speakers Sébastien Houde (Université Laval, Canada) and Stefan Riedelbauch (University of Stuttgart, Germany). On the last afternoon, a manufacturing location of Andritz Hydro was visited. 

9th IAHR Working Group Meeting on Cavitation and Dynamic Problems in Hydraulic Machinery and Systems

October 10 - 12, 2023. Timișoara, Romania

The 9th IAHR Working Group Meeting on Cavitation and Dynamic Problems in Hydraulic Machinery and Systems was held in Timișoara, Romania during 10 to 12 October 2023.

The first two days were dedicated to scientific presentations including invited lectures by Carmen Badina (Electricité de France, France) and Pavel Rudolf (Brno University of Technology, Czech Republic). A technical visit of Iron Gates I Run of the River Hydro Power Plant located on the Danube river was carried out on the third day.

32nd IAHR Symposium on Hydraulic Machinery and Systems

11 – 14 September 2024. Roorkee, India

The 32nd IAHR Symposium on Hydraulic Machinery and Systems is planned to take place in Roorkee, India in September 2024.

That event is designed to attract international experts of Hydropower Technology to participate and exchange know how and ideas.
