IAHR signs an agreement with the Vietnam Water Resources Association (VWRA) to address the urgent water issues and to develop an efficient water security strategy. 

The recent exchanges with Vice Minister Dr. Nguyen Hoang Hiep (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) and Vice Minister DR. Tran Hong Thai (Ministry of Science and Technology) have underlined the needs for a global and innovative action covering scientific, technical topics as well as capacity building in the water sector.  

Thuyloi University – historical IAHR institute member – will be a key actor for the development of this cooperation. The main focus during the upcoming months will be on flash floods management and water security strategy.

Vietnam is one of the world's top five most vulnerable countries to climate change. Typhoons, floods, droughts, and landslides frequently threaten a high proportion of the country's 96 million people and economic assets concentrated along its long, densely populated, coast.
