The IAHR Africa Division aims to strengthen IAHR’s presence on the continent by connecting African professionals, institutions, and universities to global networks. Its vision is to address Africa’s diverse water challenges through collaboration, innovation, and knowledge exchange.
The 7th IAHR Africa Division Congress organised by the IAHR Africa Division will be held in Kigali, Rwanda from 8-11 December 2026. The main theme of the Congress will be Water Resilience and Innovation.

Hohai-Africa Student Paper Competition Award
The Hohai–Africa Student Paper Competition Award recognises outstanding papers by undergraduate and postgraduate students, based on both written and oral presentations at the IAHR Africa Congress 2026.
This prestigious award celebrates innovation, scientific excellence, and relevance to Africa’s water and climate challenges.
Open to students presenting original work aligned with the congress themes. Winners receive official recognition and a certificate of excellence proudly supported by Hohai University and the IAHR Africa Division.
