The Journal of River Basin Management (JRBM) plays a specific role in promoting a cross-sectorial approach encompassing all aspects of river and floodplain management, with a truly global perspective. The Journal is a response by the scientific and professional community to the World Water Vision and calls for an integrated approach to water resources management.

The International Journal of River Basin Management just presented its new Issue 2, Volume 23. As usual, the Journal collects high-quality manuscripts reporting on various topics connected to river basin management, covering subjects such as hydrological and hydraulic modelling, evaluation of water quality in transitional areas and connected implications, as well as social implications of river basin management in transboundary rivers.
This Issue showcases the need to consider river basin management from multiple points of view, towards a holistic approach that combines physical, social, and economic aspects. In fact, an integrated approach is needed to manage highly stressed environments due to global changes and guarantee the livelihood of future generations worldwide.
