  Join the IAHR - Experimental Methods and Instrumentation (EMI) Commitee

The IAHR -  Experimental Methods and Instrumentation (EMI) Committee is pleased to announce an open call for candidates to fill three (3) positions on its Leadership Team (LT). This call is conducted in accordance with the IAHR by-laws.

The EMI is an interdisciplinary committee that branches in all experimental hydraulics fields. Its mission is to foster international activities in the dynamic area of instruments, experimental methods, and data analysis routines for both laboratory and field applications. 

The new EMI-LT members will be responsible for developing new initiatives and strengthening existing ones, in line with the EMI's strategic vision and activities. The commitment of the EMI-LT members is the driving force that ensures the sustainability and momentum of the EMI operational dynamics. Candidates are invited to express their motivation to actively participate in existing projects (e.g., W.A.T.E.R. 2026, Young Professional Challenges) and/or to propose and lead new projects within the 2025-2027 period.

 Application Requirements

A complete application must include the following two parts:

1. A short CV (maximum 2 pages).

2. A project proposal: A document outlining your proposed engagement, structured as follows:

  • General motivation expressionA brief statement of your interest in the LT role.

  • Project outline (Please structure your proposal as below):

  1. Project/initiative title: [Title]

  2. Type of project: [e.g., production of technical content - specialized papers, books, e-content; outreach activities; organization of seminars/workshops/conferences; other…]

  3. Short description: One or two paragraphs stating how the project aligns with EMI’s and IAHR’s strategic plan.

  4. Resources and timeline: Identification of resources needed (e.g., collaboration with colleagues, financial resources, facilities) and a proposed timeline. Please note that financial resources will likely not be covered by IAHR.

Please submit your complete application by November 30, 2025, via email to jenny.lu@iahr.org

Following the application deadline, an election by all EMI members will be held via an electronic ballot organized by IAHR to select the new LT members.
