Webinar "Tracking Erosion Dynamics in a Dolomitic Catchment" organised by the IAHR Italy YPN

Friday, 21 November 2025

15:30  (Italy, CEST) | UTC: 14:30 | New York (EDT): 09:30 | New Delhi (IST): 20:00 | Beijing (CST): 22:30 | (Duration: approximately 60 minutes)

Part of the series: “Online Meetings with Young Researchers and Their Professors from Italian Universities”

Overview

In this session, Prof. Giulia Zuecco will deliver the opening and closing remarks, while Girma Berhe Adane from the University of Padova will present his research on how soil erosion dynamics in the Dolomitic catchments (Italy) respond to meteorological forcing. Under Prof. Zuecco’s supervision, his research integrates high-resolution multi-temporal Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), satellite and field-based experimental data to provide a comprehensive understanding of erosion processes in the Dolomitic area.

    About the Speakers

    • Prof. Giulia Zuecco, PhD: Associate professor of hydrology and water resources management at the Department of Land, Environment, Agriculture, and Forestry (TESAF), University of Padova, Italy.

    • Girma Berhe Adane, PhD candidate: PhD candidate at the Department of Land, Environment, Agriculture, and Forestry (TESAF), University of Padova, Italy. His research focuses on erosion and hydrological processes in Alpine catchments, integrating high-resolution multi-temporal Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) data and satellite-derived observations with hydrological and environmental tracer monitoring.

    • Eng. Hossein Azizi Nadian: PhD student at DICATAM, University of Brescia, Italy, and a member of the Leadership Team of IAHR Italy YPN. His research focuses on the hydraulics of open-channel and water pipeline systems.
