1767973415806965.jpgIAHR is pleased to announce the appointment of Gregory Pasternack, Professor of Watershed Hydrology at University of California, USA as the new Editor of the Journal of Ecohydraulics.

The appointment follows an open and competitive selection process conducted by IAHR. Prof. Pasternack was selected for his outstanding scientific record, editorial vision, and strong engagement with the ecohydraulics community.

IAHR warmly thanks the outgoing Editor, Takashi Asaeda, for his dedicated leadership and significant contributions to the journal’s development and success.

Upon accepting the appointment, Prof. Pasternack stated:

1697793748437677.jpg"I am grateful to IAHR for giving me the opportunity to lead The Journal of Ecohydraulics for the next three years. Paul Kemp, Chris Katapodis, and Takashi Asaeda led the journal to its current status of publishing many high-quality, novel articles that are well-cited. Thank you. I see my mission as the next editor-in-chief as helping authors who submit manuscripts with novel, important research findings appropriate for the journal’s audience and purpose to produce final articles that are

(i) well-structured according to the scientific method,
(ii) technically sound with sufficient detail to support replication, and
(iii) mindful bridges spanning past literature to future visions, while preserving the authors’ voice and intent.

To achieve this outcome, I plan to implement novel approaches to the peer-review process that support the editorial team, authors, and reviewers. Ultimately, the measures of success will be growth in the quality of scientific writing put out by the ecohydraulics community as a whole. I believe we can rise together drawing on our humanity, even as scientific and engineering enterprises faces rapid, radical change from automation. I welcome all from within IAHR and beyond to join this adventure. More details will follow in upcoming weeks."
