Overview
The International Centre of Excellence for Dams (ICED), IIT Roorkee, with support of the International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research (IAHR) Hydraulic Structures Technical Committee, is pleased to announce a short-term training program on “CFD and Physical Modelling of Spillways and Energy Dissipators.”
This program brings together leading international experts to share the latest advancements, real-world case studies, and hands-on insights into hydraulic modelling for Spillways and Energy Dissipators.
The course will be coordinated by Prof Zulfequar Ahmad (Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, Joint faculty of ICED, IIT Roorkee, India) and Dr Valentin Heller (Associate Professor in Hydraulics, Faculty of Engineering, University of Nottingham, UK).
Venue: ICED, Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, India (Hybrid mode)
Manifestation of Interest: 10 March 2026
Acceptance: 15 March 2026
Ideal for field engineers, researchers, dam authorities, and regulators working in hydraulic engineering, particularly in spillway and energy dissipator design.
Participation certificate & digital course material provided.
Limited seats available.
