The International Journal of River Basin Management, Volume 24, Issue 2, 2026 is now available!

trbm20.v024.i02.largecover.jpgThe Journal of River Basin Management (JRBM) plays a specific role in promoting a cross-sectorial approach encompassing all aspects of river and floodplain management, with a truly global perspective. The Journal is a response by the scientific and professional community to the World Water Vision and calls for an integrated approach to water resources management.

Overview

The second issue of the International Journal of River Basin Management is now out, and collects innovative studies that touch transversal topics like geomorphology and health.

Among the twelve research papers constituting this issue, you will find studies that look at the transport of sediment and morphological changes at both small and large scales, as well as investigations on the use of hydrological models for predicting streamflow and the impact of flooding events. A couple of studies focus on vegetation and ecosystem services, pointing out the role that nature has in shaping our river basins. Besides physical transformations, rivers are also subjected to changes in the water quality, as shown by some studies reported in this issue, which investigate physicochemical parameters and substances like heavy metals, to provide new insights into their impact on humans.

This second issue of 2026 showcases the wide range of topics considered by JRBM, as river basin management calls for a holistic approach, combining expertise from technical and social sciences
