Strengthening the international visibility of Ibero-American water research

RIBAGUA – Revista Iberoamericana del Agua, an IAHR scientific journal dedicated to advancing water-related research and engineering in Ibero-America, is indexed in the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI), part of Web of Science, and is listed in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ). The journal also has a Journal Impact Factor, further supporting its recognition within the international academic publishing landscape.

Its presence in these internationally recognised platforms enhances the visibility and discoverability of research published in RIBAGUA, helping authors reach a wider international scientific audience.

Published by Taylor & Francis on behalf of IAHR and the World Council of Civil Engineers (WCCE), RIBAGUA provides a platform for researchers and professionals to share scientific knowledge, technological developments and engineering advances addressing water-related challenges across Ibero-America.

The journal is also indexed in other international databases and discovery services, including Inspec, ProQuest, CNKI and Wanfang, further supporting the dissemination of research developed in the region.

By publishing research in Spanish and Portuguese under a gold open-access model, RIBAGUA helps connect scientific advances with engineering practice and professional expertise, making research freely accessible to readers worldwide.

Through its international reach and commitment to knowledge exchange, RIBAGUA contributes to strengthening the global visibility of Ibero-American research and fostering dialogue between scientists, engineers and water professionals.

In addition, special article collections are planned for publication, focusing on key themes such as droughts, 'El Niño', and selected papers from the Latin American Congress.
