Submit Your Abstract for the 2027 M.S. Yalin Memorial Colloquium: Mixing and Transport   Processes in Rivers in the Context of Climate Change

The IAHR invites you to join the fourth edition of the "M.S. Yalin Memorial Colloquium 2027: Mixing and Transport Processes in Rivers in the Context of Climate Change” (YMC 2027), organised under the auspices of the IAHR's Technical Committee on Fluvial Hydraulics.

The present edition places special emphasis on mixing processes in rivers, fundamental mechanisms governing the distribution of substances, energy, and momentum within flowing water systems. These processes critically impact water quality, ecosystem health, and material transport in river environments. They maintain water quality by distributing oxygen for aquatic life, transporting sediments and nutrients to facilitate key ecosystem processes, regulating temperature distribution, and creating diverse habitats that support various species. Thus, understanding river mixing processes is critical for adapting to climate change impacts on river systems, restoring and conserving river ecosystems and managing water resources also designing effective remediation strategies.

YMC2027 offers a valuable opportunity to explore these processes and their effects on fluvial ecosystems within the context of climate change. The event will foster discussion and learning among young and senior researchers and practitioners.
