Dear IAHR Members, Colleagues and Friends,

As the completion of 2020 draws near, in one of the most challenging and disrupted years experienced, we, as a community, have successfully created and adapted to new ways of working together. We took on new opportunities, including adapting existing programmes and organising high-quality and very well attended virtual events. We set about improving the member experience and attracting new members to the community as well as engaging with institutions and solution providers.  The year has also seen a rising interest in our portfolio of knowledge products.  

I warmly thank you for your commitment, great efforts and support over the year.  The real story of IAHR’s impact this year is found in the diversity and the engagement of the people in our technical committees, working groups, regional divisions and young professional networks.  With the dedication of the Executive Committee and Council and the support of our secretariat hosts: Spain Water and the China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research - we have maintained and innovated activities whilst reaching ever wider audiences.  

I look forward to continuing our vision to accelerate solutions and knowledge discovery with you next year, especially via our various technical activities and at IAHR’s inaugural Online Forum in July!
