cover esta.pngThe International Journal of River Basin Management (JRBM) plays a specific role in promoting a cross-sectorial approach encompassing all aspects of river and floodplain management, with a truly global perspective. The Journal is a response by the scientific and professional community to the World Water Vision and calls for an integrated approach to water resources management.

 Overview

JRBM has reached a milestone with the publication of our latest issue.  Issue 1 of Volume 20 has increased in size due to our backlog of excellent papers exploring the management of river basins. Over the last 20 years, JRBM has focussed on and intends to continue to focus on the publication of multi-disciplinary papers dealing with the many dimensions of basin management including a wide range of technical, social, and economic aspects. The breadth of these topics is illustrated by the papers in this issue ; these cover the impact of ice on regulated rivers and reservoirs, surge waves in canyons, hydropower impacts on flow, climate change and morphological changes in lowland river systems, urban runoff and its impact on recreational areas, and salinity in estuarine environments among other subjects. The need for papers addressing these topics and others published in JRBM is shown by the continual increase in downloads and citations of our journal papers.
