Hydro-environmental issues vary from one continent to another, and from region to region. IAHR Regional Congresses represent tremendous opportunities to discuss and find solutions to hydro-environmental challenges among regional communities. The IAHR Africa Division has organised five regional congresses to date and has opened the bids for the 6th Africa Congress to be held in 2024.
Hosting the 6th Africa Congress brings a prestigious global event on a key issue to the host institution, city, and country.
Showcase your leadership. The event provides a highly visible local and global platform for hosts to showcase regional and international leadership in the hydro-environment sector. It is a concrete and practical opportunity to highlight the issues of the most urgent and strategic priority.
Socio-economic impact. The Congress brings socio-economic opportunities to the host city via the participation of over one thousand experts who, over the course of a full week, shall contribute to the local economy and tourism and also highlight the major water and environment issues to local and national populations.
Help accelerate knowledge exchange. The Congress brings the world’s foremost experts and leaders on hydro-environment to the host city and accelerates concrete exchange on the latest technical knowledge, research, innovations, and best practice with the global community on the present and future solutions for the water and environment sector.
Create lasting network opportunities. The Congress provides a targeted and highly relevant platform for local and national experts, organisations, universities, institutes, and businesses to create lasting international relationships, networks, and opportunities.
Build synergies. The Congress provides the host with a unique rallying point to build synergy amongst the local and national members of the water community around national agendas and topics of common and strategic interest.
Get extended and prolonged outreach and global visibility. By augmenting traditional physical congresses with new digital opportunities, the Congress provides extended and prolonged outreach and global visibility that is highly targeted and relevant to hydro-environment experts, researchers, practitioners, scientists, engineers as well as both public and private international organisations.
