Dear Members of the IAHR Technical Committee on Hydraulic Structures:
Greetings Colleagues, Friends, and Associates.
We thank all who have contributed to the profession of Hydraulic Structures and, in particular, to those individuals both past and present who have been involved in IAHR technical committee events.
The IAHR Hydraulic Structures Leadership Team (HSLT) is currently requesting nominations for two (2) upcoming vacancies in the Leadership Team (LT). Successful candidates will be starting their tenure this August 2023 beginning at the IAHR World Congress held in Austria. We seek representations from around the globe, water professionals at different stages of their careers, and a balance of academics, practice-oriented engineers and applied researchers. It has been our position that the HSLT adequately represents and serves our diverse community across many regions and circumstances, and thus we strongly encourage cultural, regional and gender diversity amongst nominations. Self-nominations are welcome and encouraged. If nominating a colleague, please obtain consent from the individual in advance.
Please note that candidates must be current members of the IAHR Technical Committee on Hydraulic Structures. For guidance, please note the following excerpts from the IAHR bylaws:
"The Leadership Team (LT) of the Committee should represent the high scientific, technical and professional quality and dedication as well as a fair representation of the regional distribution of world-wide IAHR membership. It is to be expected that post-holders are able and willing to dedicate reasonable time to carry out their duties and to attend Committee meetings".
It is expected that post-holders will be able to attend in-person the IAHR World Congresses and participate in other Hydraulic Structures Committee events (hybrid, in person, online as applicable) and LT efforts including workshops, publications, Symposia, etc. For additional background on past committee efforts please visit https://www.iahr.org/index/committe/5
Nominations packets are to be a single pdf that includes 1) a candidate statement (not to exceed 1 pg) followed by 2) a concise resume with a short biography.

No late submissions will be accepted. Thereafter we will conduct an electronic ballot for the election by all IAHR Hydraulic Structures committee members.
