About
Dr. Marco Polo Robaldi-Vázquez specializes in water resources and sustainability. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from the Instituto Tecnológico de Tapachula (México), a Master's in Civil Engineering (Hydraulics) from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), and a PhD in Sustainability Science (focusing on sustainable urban planning and infrastructure) earned with honors at the UNAM (México). During his studies, he completed research stays in México, Argentina, and Sweden. His 12 years of expertise in addressing real-world water management challenges have driven his commitment to applied research. His research focuses on rivers, Socio-Environmental Systems (SES) with an emphasis on flooding and environmental pollution; sustainable urban planning and infrastructure; and Nature-based Solutions (NbS) for climate change adaptation, among others. Currently, he serves as a postdoctoral researcher in the Geotechnics Department at the Instituto de Ingeniería (II-UNAM), where he works on interdisciplinary sustainability projects at the interface of hydraulics and geotechnics.
