National University of Singapore
About
I am a Research Fellow at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, National University of Singapore. My research focuses on eco-hydrodynamics and wave-vegetation interactions, with a particular interest in developing innovative, nature-based solutions for coastal protection. I work extensively on hybrid approaches that combine engineering principles with ecological restoration, such as the use of portable breakwaters to support young mangrove establishment in high-energy coastal environments. My work involves experimental wave basin studies, live plant biomechanics, and field-relevant restoration strategies. I am especially passionate about integrating adaptive and community-friendly designs that can be scaled for broader use in tropical and subtropical coastlines. Through my research, I aim to contribute to sustainable coastal resilience and the long-term success of mangrove restoration in vulnerable regions.
