About

Prof. Mushtaque Ahmed obtained his PhD from Iowa State University, USA in 1988 and MSc from University of Hawaii in 1984 (Civil Engineering). He is currently a Professor of the Department of Soils, Water and Agricultural Engineering of Sultan Qaboos University (SQU), Oman. He joined SQU in 1996 and has held different positions including Head of the Department, Assistant Dean and Director of the SQU Environmental Studies and Research Center (CESAR). Prior to joining SQU, he worked with CSIRO and New South Wales State Government in Australia. His current research interests are biosaline agriculture, managed aquifer recharge, climate change and adaptability, desalination in agriculture, wastewater treatment and reuse.
