Dr. Elpida Kolokytha is a Professor in Aristotle University of THessaloniki, (AUTh) currently Head of the Division of Hydraulics& Environmental Engineering in the Dept of Civil Engineering. She holds a Diploma in Civil Engineering (1993), and a PhD in Water Resources Management and Engineering (1999) from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. She is the Head of the UNESCO Center for Integrated and Multidisciplinary Water Resources Management of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki which consists of scientists and experts from 13 different departments related to water and its management. She is currently the Chair of the Leadership Team of the IAHR’s Technical Committee on Water Resources Management. She has 25 years of research experience, together with coordination skills, in the field of environmental policy, integrated water resources management, social and economic aspects of water resources, national, European and International legislation of water resources as well as transboundary river basin management and Ηydrodiplomacy. Editor of two books in English (Springer 2017, T&F 2020) and publisher of more than 120 papers in scientific journals and conference proceedings. She has participated in 25 research and educational projects and served as an instructor in different international universities, in UNESCO seminars she has been evaluator to Master programs and to projects of EU grants.
