Catherine Swartenbroekx holds a PhD in hydraulics from the Université catholique de Louvain (2012). She has 10+ years of experience in fluvial andstructure hydraulics. As from 2013 she works in the Hydraulic Research Laboratoryof the Service Public de Wallonie, Belgium,as a research engineer. Since then, she has been in charge of several studies onnavigation locks, river weirs and hydraulicstructures, using both numerical andphysical models, and field measurements.
