* This profile page is created/updated for the 1st IAHR Online Forum (July 5-7, 2021) * Dr. Sutat Weesakul is a Director of Hydro – Informatics Institute (HII), under Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) Thailand, Chairman of ASEAN Hydroinformatics Data Centre (AHC), and a member of United Nations office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR)'s Asia-Pacific Science Technology and Academia Advisory Group (APSTAAG). Graduated with a doctoral degree in Engineering (Hydraulic/ Coastal) from The Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Dr. Weesakul is an expert in hydraulic and coastal engineering and has over 35 years of research and teaching experience. His research interests focus on Water Resources Engineering and Management, Hydraulic and Hydrology and Numerical computation in sea and coastal area including flood propagation. Before working with HII, he was a Director of Research Project, Water Engineering and Management Program at AIT. Dr. Weesakul has been involved with many international projects in collaboration with private sectors and government agencies to enhance the use of Science, Technology and Innovation for sustainable water resources management in Thailand.
