About
My research focuses on ice mechanics and Arctic technology. I am interested on the mechanical behavior of sea ice in general and on ice loads on offshore structures. Insight on ice loads is needed for design of safe, efficient and sustainable marine structures for ice-covered seas. I work with computational tools, such as discrete element method, which our group develops for ice mechanics applications. An important part of my work are experiments in laboratory and full-scale for model validation. I perform laboratory scale experiments in cold room and in . My background is in solid and applied mechanics. I teach topics related to ice mechanics and on applied mechanics.
