Jorge Cardoso Gonçalves has been President of the Portuguese Association of Water Resources (APRH) since 2023, having previously served as Vice-President. He is Innovation and Training Manager at LIS-Water – Lisbon International Centre for Water. He holds a PhD in Civil Engineering – Hydraulics, Water Resources and Environment from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP), has completed additional management training at Porto Business School, and attended advanced programmes on water and waste services management. He has worked as a designer, operational manager (Águas do Norte, S.A.), researcher (FEUP) and engineering consultant. He is co-founder and partner of Water Services Consulting and Management, Lda. Author and co-author of projects in the field of water services, he has been active in public debate through interviews, articles, presentations, and the organisation of technical-scientific events. Since May 2025, he has been President of the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries on Water (CAPEP).
