Mr. Cesar Adolfo Alvarado Ancieta is an international expert and of head of river engineering, flood control, river diversion water transfer, hydropower & dams, hydraulic engineering, tunneling, and water supply & sewerage projects. Born in Peru and is a German citizen, and he has over 34 years engineering international working experience and contribution research on river engineering and hydraulic structures due to his collaboration with German universities as the Leichtweiß Institut für Wasserbau from the Technical University of Braunschweig (since 1999) and the Institut für Wasserwirtschaft und Ökotechnologie (IWO) from the Hochschule Magdeburg-Stendal (since 2009). He received his Civil Engineering Bachelor’s degree and he is graduated with Diploma Degree of Civil Engineer focused on hydraulics, hydrology, geotechnics and structural engineering for hydropower and dams, tunneling and river engineering from Ricardo Palma University in Lima (1994), Peru. He is chartered civil engineer in Peru, with CIP registration N° 47084 (1995). He has carried out post-graduate studies in hydraulics, dam engineering, sediment transport and physical-mathematical hydraulic modelling at the Leichtweiß Institut für Wasserbau (LWI) from the Technical University of Braunschweig (TU-BS) in Germany (1999) sponsored by the university and his former employer CES Consulting Engineers Salzgitter GmbH. Post-graduate studies sponsored by the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA) on project management of hydropower development (2000) focused on geological aspect, geotechnics, hydrology, sedimentology, hydraulics, hydropower, dam engineering, tunneling, powerhouse engineering, cost estimates, contract management and FIDIC conditions by SwedPower and Vatenfall Energy in Stockholm, Lulea and Jokkmokk Training Centre. Post-graduated studies sponsored by the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD) on project management of hydropower development focused on hydropower, dam engineering and safety, tunneling, powerhouse engineering, cost estimates, contract management and FIDIC conditions at the International Centre for Hydropower (ICH) and the Norwegian University of Science and Technology of Trondheim (NTNU, 2001). He was sponsored by the International Organization of Netherlands for Cooperation (NUFFIC) receiving his M. Engineering and then his M.Sc. degree in hydraulic engineering in the field of river engineering and river basin development focused on hydraulics, hydrology, river basin, sediment transport, geotechnics, hydropower development, dam engineering, environmental impact assessment, river engineering, fluvial hydraulics, hydro-informatics, project management and FIDIC conditions at the International Institute for Infrastructural, Hydraulic and Environmental Engineering - IHEDelft, The Netherlands, with a physical hydraulic research in cooperation with the Polytechnic University of Catalunya (UPC-Barcelona) and the Castilla La Mancha University (UCLM) in Ciudad Real, Spain between 2002 and 2004. He has an international wide experience working in Latin America, Europe, Africa and Asia. His experience is focused on project management of large scale river engineering & flood control projects, river diversion water transfer projects, hydropower and large dams projects, themfocused on planning, research, detailed engineering design and construction supervision of water transfer tunnels and hydropower plants and several dam typologies as Concrete Faced Rockfill Dams (CFRD), Asphalt Concrete Core Rockfill Dams (ACCRD), Roller Compacted Concrete Dams (RCCD), Faced Symmetrical Hardfill Dams (FSHD), Homogeneous Earth Dams (HED) and Concrete Gravity Dams (CGD). He is member of the German Committee of Dams - Deutsches Talsperrenkomitee e.V. (DTK) and member of the International Committee of Large Dams (ICOLD) with register N° 01004, member of the International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research (IAHR) committees of fluvial hydraulics and hydraulic structures, with membership N° 54999 and research member of the German Association for Water Resources, Sewerage and Depositions - (DWA) - Department WW-2 „Hydraulic“ Groupwork WW-2.7 „Scour in Hydraulic Structures“. He was born in Peru and he has German Citizenship obtained through his large 30 years engineering working experience and contribution research on hydraulic structures due to his collaboration with German universities as the Leichtweiß Institut für Wasserbau from the Technical University of Braunschweig and the Institut für Wasserwirtschaft und Ökotechnologie (IWO) from the Hochschule Magdeburg-Stendal. He received his Civil Engineering Bachelor’s degree and he is graduated with Diploma Degree of Civil Engineer focused on hydraulics, hydrology, geotechnics and structural engineering for hydropower and dams, tunneling and river engineering from Ricardo Palma University in Lima (1994), Peru. He is chartered civil engineer in Peru, with CIP registration N° 47084 (1995). He has carried out post-graduate studies in hydraulics, dam engineering, sediment transport and physical-mathematical hydraulic modelling at the Leichtweiß Institut für Wasserbau (LWI) from the Technical University of Braunschweig (TU-BS) in Germany (1999) sponsored by the university and his former employer CES Consulting Engineers Salzgitter GmbH.
