Abstract: Physical models are employed usually for testing and optimization of final breakwaters designs. However, its application to the construction stage is less common. Nevertheless, its use facilitates the planning of construction, as well as improving the safety of the works. Given this situation, this paper provides an overview of the possibilities offered by physical experimentation for breakwater construction, by two case studies conducted at CEDEX: Barcelona enlargement and Coru? a Outer Port.
