Abstract: In many volcanic regions of the world their ancient hydrographic networks, especially river valleys with powerful groundwater flows, were covered by lava. Interception of that waters on high levels will allow not only usage this waters for water supply, but also will influence hydrodynamic regime of plain territories below. As an example of such a region may serve Ararat intermountain area in Armenia. This problem is solved using method of mathematical modeling with large usage of information obtained by geophysical methods.
