Abstract: A growing number of laboratory wave generation facilities are being equipped with active wave absorption capability. This paper describes a new active wave absorption method that uses a 3-probe array to separate the incoming and outgoing wave trains. The new method allows active wave absorption capability to be easily added to existing wave machines.
