Abstract: The paper takes some authors experience into account in investigation of unsteady hydrodynamic processes that occur in navigation structures. Mathematical formulation of this problem is based on the coupled system of equations of the long waves theory and those of vessel displacement in water into a lock chamber and canals. Optimization problems on reduction if operational time or energy consumption under the limitations caused by technical characteristics and conditions are under considerations with the same purpose it is proposed to introduce the additional facilities as well as an active control element. It is supposed that the use of such additional active control devices enables to increase the technical efficiency of navigation structures.
