Abstract: A study of water environment of Hori River is very important for the people living surroundings to it. Hori River flows through the downtown city of Nagoya, Japan. The aim of this study is to analyze the features of the stage of water environment of Hori River with the help of the human sense data. Therefore, the analysis of human sense data should be linked with the nature of the water behaviors. Being a tidal river, the water behavior has been changing during the different time. Therefore, consideration of tidal activities and seasonal variations should be the important factor for the analysis of this study. For this analysis, the human sense data of last 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 year from Horikawa Sennin Chosatai 2010 were carried out. These data were attributed to different surveyors who took a survey along with the all bridges of Hori River and it was the feeling of their sense i. e. they looked at the water condition of Hori River of different bridge and gave their opinion towards the conditions of the river. In this paper, dirty and smell are analyzed as the two major indicators of the feelings of these data. For this, first of all the river was divided into five parts (Portion A to Portion E) of the longitudinal profile, according to topography of River. Portion A is affiliated to downstream of the river which is connected to sea and the Portion E is upstream of the river. Moreover, theses data were linked to seasonal variations (summer and winter), tidal behaviors (spring and neap tides), water levels to see the water status changes during the rise and fall of water. From the result, we could not found satisfactory significant difference of those indicators among the different conditions of the seasonal change of the river. But, we got the features of human sense of water behaviors due to the tidal change in the middle streams. Although, these data were analyzed under the feelings of human beings, this study is important for the environmental management of the Hori River for the fundamental research of human sense towards their vision for the feelings of the river environment.
