Abstract: Hydraulic information of river or stream is very important for watershed development, river improvement, and several river projects. However, there is rarely data in small and medium sized streams in Republic of Korea. It is also required a lot of money and manpower to measure hydraulic information in the streams. The purpose of the study is to develop a system that can acquire high-quality hydraulic information in real time with a small outlay. The system is the WIA (wireless image acquisition) & River-HQ systems that contain an automatic transmission device for image of stream flow, an image analysis program, rating curve (water stage-discharge relationship) at weir, the HEC-RAS, and database.
