Abstract: In many countries of the world the operation of water reservoirs has shown that antifiltration measures taken even in advance can not often ensure against appreciable filtration water losses. Study of destruction of hydrtotechnic structures leads to a conclusion that about 50% of distractions are because of harmful action of filtration. Filtration water losses from water reservoirs are the cause of swamping of its surrounding territories and aggravate their ecology. In order to locate the sites of water seepage within the bottom and the boards of reservoir, to determine the direction of filtration flow movement and to estimate the efficiency of constructed antifiltration screens it is recommended to employ geophysical methods. The effects of employing those methods are illustrated by an example of geophysical regime observations conducted on a number of reservoirs in Armenia.
