Abstract: A preliminary investigation of the groundwater quality at an unconfined coastal aquifer, which has been created from land reclamation works, was carried out. Groundwater samples collected from 50 standpipes in the study area were collected for analyses at the laboratory. It was observed that the salinity in the land reclaimed earlier is much less than that in the newly reclaimed one. A correlation between the total dissolved solids (TDS), the conductivity of the water and NaCl was established. The relationship between TDS and sodium, manganese and magnesium was also established.
