Utilizing the Knowledge Economy Concept to Develop Hydropower-Hydraulics and Society

Abstract: The knowledge economy is the economy based on knowledge. The knowledge economy refers to a new type economy which is different from the past economy whose pillar is the traditional industry and whose main support is the scarce natural resource. The hydropower is the traditional industrial economy, but it develops and utilizes not the scarce natural resource but the water. Viewing from the energy disposition, the hydropower contains the knowledge economy elements. We should develop the hydropower better, utilizing the science and technology、the knowledge of the management science and the behavior science, especially the hydropower resource on the upper Yellow River.
