Abstract: In this paper, the wave attenuation and concentration caused by the topography of deep harbor approach channel or basin have been analyzed. A critical angle of wave refraction which determines the wave propagates across the channel or concentrates on the incident side of the channel has been studied by using nonlinear dispersive wave theory. Several factors are found to be related to the critical angle. A harbor revetment damaged by typhoon wave due to multiple refraction has been analyzed.
