Abstract: Groundwater is a complex, nonlinear and random system, so it is difficult to deal with if it is polluted. Groundwater vulnerability (GV), which reflects the potential tendency and possibility of groundwater contamination, can be mainly evaluated by the DRASTIC method. The DRASTIC method is widely used because it can be simply adapted to the complicated areas. But the main problems of this method are dispersed index, fixed weights and neglected human activities. According to this, the variable fuzzy set theory was used in this paper to assess the GV, which combines with water quantity, water quality and human activitiesˊIt is suggested from the case in Tongliao City that, the proposed model is straightforward and the results are easily understoodˊ
