Abstract: Cooling water of industrial plant is generally taken from sea. In a case that the sea is not water and sedimentation on seabed. In this paper the author study effect of the sea bed excavation on selective withdrawal by a submerged round intake. The authors show number as well as Richardson number. Then it is indicated through that effects of the longitudinal extent of excavation area on the current is insignificant as far as the excavation height is less than two-thirds of the lower end level of the intake. experimentally that critical condition to exclude warmer surface water depend on Froude deep enough, it may become necessary to dig down the seabed to prevent warmer surface
