Abstract: The combination of vertical wall and seaward side wave screens made with circular wave intercepting elements was considered for experimental investigation and its hydrodynamic performance characteristics under regular waves are discussed in this paper. Four different wave screen porosities, arrived by changing the spacing between elements, were considered for the present study. The reflective nature of the model systems and the dynamic pressure distribution on vertical wall were studied and reported, as a function of relative water depth. The dimensionless water surface oscillation inside the wave dissipating chamber is also reported and discussed. In addition, the effects of different seaside screen porosities and wave condition on the reflection, chamber oscillation and dynamic pressure distribution are also discussed in this paper.
