Abstract: This seminar is addressed to problems in which the interaction of the wind with structures as civil and industrial buildings or machines as windmills has to be studied. In these problems the wind can act either as a source of forces against which a structure has to resist, or as a source of renewable energy that can integrate the other available natural sources. The main goal of the seminar is to attract hydraulic engineers in the fields of wind en gineering and wind energy as it is believed that these specialists can give a valuable contribution for the advancement of the related technologies and in particular in their fluid-dynamic aspects. The present paper summarizes the written contributions that have been sent to the Organizing Committee of the XXVII IAHR Congress prior to the deadline. For this reason they will probably and hopefully give only a partial though interesting and qualified idea of possible solutions to problems still open; but I sincerely hope that many more contributions and discussions will take place in the true seminar in San Francisco.
