Abstract: This paper discusses the potential for augmenting conventional data bases used for hydrogeological inverse problems, which in general include direct measurements of the hydraulic head and hydraulic conductivity, to information obtained from tracer tests and geophysical surveys. A new approach for analyzing tracer travel times is proposed and tested using the Cape Cod data. The moments so obtained match favorably those predicted by theoretical models. The basic concepts of using geophysical remote sensing for site characterization are presented.
