Abstract: Hubbart Dam is located in northwestern Montana, about 25 miles southwest of Kalispell. The dam is a variable-radius concrete arch dam with a structural height of 89 feet. The dam is owned and operated by the U.S. Bureau of Indian Affairs, Flathead Agency Irigation Division (FAID). The dam was constructed in 1923 across the Little Bitterroot River, and has a storage capacity of approximately 12,000 acre-feet. The primary purpose for the dam is to store water for irrigation of portions of the Flathead Indian Reservation.
