Abstract: The great spatial and temporal variability of sediment yield in the rivers, due to accelerated erosion, represents a major problem for the reservoirs. It is always necessary to make a prediction of the reservoir sedimentation in order to get its probable useful lifetime. This paper shows use of double-mass curves in a case study to get the correct increasing rate in sediment yield of a basin, or a location on a river for a good evaluation of the reservoir sedimentation.
