Abstract: Three-dimensional solutions for flows in a single as well as a compound sine-generated meandering channel are obtained numerically. A sigma transformation in vertical co-ordinate is employed for following the dynamic free water surface. The results on main flow shifting, secondary current pattern, water surface super-elevation and so forth agree closely with the measured data of flume tests. The secondary current direction in most locations of compound channel is opposite to that in single channel.
