Abstract: Genetic programming (GP) has been used to perform an analysis of sediment transport data and to induce the relationship between the bed concentration of suspended sediment c_b and the hydraulic conditions. The results obtained through the application of this novel technology are shown to be of similar accuracy to the ones obtained by more traditional techniques.
