A Geometric Model for Self-Formed Channels in Uniform Sand

Abstract: A geometric model of a straight self-formed channel is presented which is based on the depth-averaged flow equation by Shiono and Knight, the critical shear stress at the junction point by Shields, the side shape by Parker and the sediment discharge rate by Ackers&White. It models a channel with a flat bottom and two side banks at the threshold of motion.
