Abstract: It is well known that thin sheet flow in steep slope channels has the phenomenon of self excited, periodical Roll-Wave trains if Froude number exceeds approximately 2(Ultra- Rapid flow). In the engineering and environmental field, it is important to clarify the characteristics of the Roll-Wave so as to gain information for estimating channel design and to better understand the natural process of the movement of sediment.
