Abstract: The yeilding pattern of water from season to season and its variation within a river system from upstream to downstream was looked into for a Sri Lanakan catchment, namely the Kaluganga basin (2,600km^2), in order to forecast the discharge. Kaluganga, begins from the central hilly areas (1500m M.S.L.) of Sri Lanka and flows to the south. western coast.
