Development of a Simple and High-Accurate Scheme for 1-D Diffusion Simulation

Abstract: A simple and high-accurate scheme for solving the one-dimensional advectiondiffusion equation is proposed in this paper. The advection term is discretized in the generalized Crank and Nicholson type but the used time levels are n and n-1 in this scheme. The several model computations are carried out to verify the high performance of the scheme. It is found from the results that the present scheme has almost the same accuracy as the 6-point scheme proposed by Komatsu et. al. and will be easily treated because of its compactness.
