Abstract: In recent years there are active ice research activities in the Barents Sea area, connected with the development of oil-gas fields. The objective of estimating the iceberg danger occupies an important place in conducting the ice studies since icebergs present one of the most dangerous natural phenomena in the development of the fields and operation of offshore structures. Glaciers situated on their islands and archipelagos can produce icebergs of comparatively large mass-size characteristics. The questions of spreading and morphometric peculiarities of icebergs in the Barents Sea are consider in present paper.
