Abstract: Sayano-Shushenskoye water reservoir is the deepest one in Russia. Situated in a severe climatic area the reservoir has rather favourable conditions for navigation, because the ice formation on the surface of the reservoir begins on much later term than on u. t. due to the great heat storage which is accumulated in summer.
