Abstract: A Centre of Ice/Structure Interaction has been established at the National Research Council of Canada in Ottawa. The objective of the Centre is to develop and maintain expertise in ice/structure interaction with information collected in the Canadian Beaufort Sea. The data base for the Centre is an unique collection of reports and information pertaining to the development of the Canadian Beaufort Sea. The information primarily focuses on the measured ice loads and the environmental conditions in the region. Extensive contributions have been made. to the Centre by all three of the major oil companies (Gulf Canada Resources Ltd., Imperial Oil (Esso) and Dome Petroleum / Canmar) that were involved in the development of the Canadian Beaufort Sea. The collection houses over 1000 reports, 200 films & videos, and includes a large number of event data measured on the Gulf Canada offshore structure "Molikpaq". It also has the Gulf Canada deterministic and probabilistic ice load models. This paper describes the current contents of the Centre and provides an overview of its activities.
